CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
The 2010 race season is underway and Bobby is back with Bill McAnally Racing, participating in a full season of the NASCAR Whelen Late Model series driving for and representing the nationwide company; Pick-N-Pull. In additional consideration is being given to several races in the NASCAR K&N Pro Touring Series Western division.
In 2009, Bobby ran 2 USAC Midget Races for Paul Eskesen finishing in the top 3 in both instances. Bobby also provided testing driving support for RSWC Racing for some new NASCAR Grand American Modified racears.
In 2008, Bobby was given the opportunity to drive for 3 difference owners; Bill McAnally Racing NASCAR Late Models, Paul Eskesen Racing in USAC Midgets and Marc DeBeaumont, also in USAC Midgets. In four Midget starts, Bobby had 3 consecutive USAC Midget wins for the two different owners, a second place finish and two dash wins. Bobby also achieved a NASCAR Open Late Model win and a second place finish in two starts. Bobby made the best of every opportunity he had in 2008 and achieved a combined winning percentage of 57% and a top 2 finishing percentage of 86%.
In 2007. Bobby drove for the first time, in NASCAR Late Models, for Bill McAnally Racing out of Antelope Calif. In 8 races, Bobby had three consecutive wins, 4 dash wins, 3 top 5's and 1 top 10. This was Bobby's first time ever, running NASCAR.
In 2006, Bobby drove for Marc DeBeaumont Motorsports in the USAC Western States Midget Series. In five races, Bobby had two wins, a second place, qualified on pole twice and off-pole once.
In 2005, Bobby signed on with Chip Ganassi Racing as development and test driver. Bobby ran USAC National Midgets on a limited schedule as well as handling test driving duties in IRL and Nextel Cup Cars. In addition to the USAC Midgets, Bobby flew to California to participate in the SCCA Western States Championship Race at Thunderhill Raceway, running for the first time a Formula Continental. Bobby qualified on pole, set a qualifying record and won the race; setting a race lap record in the process.
In 2004, Grewohl was invited by Sam Schmidt Motorsports to test an IRL Infinity Pro Series car at Kentucky Speedway and made an immediate impression on Butch Meyer, IRL Technical Director. Grewohl was accorded his IRL driver’s license by Meyer on his third lap of the test and proceeded to set an impressive lap time of 28.0 seconds at a speed of 193.6 mph. That accomplishment was made all the more impressive when the pole position at the Kentucky IPS race in 2004 was won with a speed of 190.398 mph.
In the 2004 SCCA Formula Ford season opening race at Infineon Raceway, Grewohl qualified on pole setting both a record qualifying time and fastest race lap record. The young talent also qualified on pole in his first ever USAC Ford Focus Midget race at Madera Speedway, also marking his first time racing on an oval. Following three poles and top-3 finishes, Grewohl started the main event in 20th place, working his way up to a 7th place finish.
